So what was the fundraiser for?
So as you may know, on Friday I held a fundraising event in Warrington. This event was Becca's idea, to raise money for Brainwave and also to help towards costs of an agent/ publishing Mr Millet's Farm. On the night we had CAKE - Function and Party Band, who played 2 sets of great party tunes which got everyone up dancing!
And finally, it was an opportunity to have a great night out - as you can see from the picture below, me and Raj had a brilliant time dancing!

On the night...The beautiful Amy (pictured here with me) used her powerful singing voice to entertain the 100 strong crowd! The mixture of songs from 99 Red balloons to Superstition and Valerie kept us all entertained! Details about the band are available here on their facebook page-https://www.facebook.com/cakepartyband?ref=br_tf The room was decorated by colourful clusters of Brainwave balloons, and the Dj Paul Slater lit up the room! We had a huge raffle with over 80 prizes.... from shopping vouchers, children's books, family day out vouchers such as to a farm, experiences and food and drink! (I was very pleased to win the prize I wanted - Jive Lessons!!!!) We also had a game of "slide the coin" to win a bottle of whiskey! from this game alone we raised £36! Thanks to Pete Joyce and Manchester United for kindly donating a signed Robin Van Persie football shirt! We held an auction for this and managed to raise £150! Surprise on the night! The week before the event my uncle had told me he had a suprise for me... he turned up with a cake made as a replica of a Mr Millet's Farm book! This cake (pictured below) was decorated so well and we sold it for £1 a slice - making £35 from cake! Many thanks to my uncle Joe (Lord) and Laura Owens that made the cake! |
We also had a props table on the night, with not only props such as fake moustaches and sunglasses, but also characters from Mr Millet's Farm and their accessories, such as Faye's top hat and Rosie's pink Bow! Everyone had great fun posing for pictures with these.
So what did we raise?
Well I am still collecting last minute donations, but we have hit the £1800 mark!!! So that means £900 for Brainwave and £900 to help towards costs of an agent / publishing.
But most importantly... We all had a fantastic night!!
